A young woman suffering from severe multiple sclerosis, which prevents her from moving around and communicating with those around her, can now enjoy greater autonomy thanks to a high-tech pulse communication device. The Foundation supported the family of a young quadriplegic with the purchase of a robotic arm. The return home of a young teenager was facilitated by the installation of a lifting platform. The Foundation is also continuing its support for Marie-Claude Lemieux, a young mother suffering from locked-in syndrome.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-column content-box-column content-box-column content-box-column-3 col-lg-6 col-md-6 col-sm-6 fusion-content-box-hover  content-box-column-first-in-row\"><div class=\"col content-box-wrapper content-wrapper-background link-area-link-icon icon-hover-animation-fade\" style=\"background-color:#eeeeee;\" data-animationOffset=\"100%\"><div class=\"heading heading-with-icon icon-left\"><div class=\"icon\"><i style=\"background-color:transparent;border-color:transparent;height:auto;width: 28px;line-height:normal;color:#6eb43f;font-size:28px;\" class=\"fontawesome-icon  fa fa-flask circle-no\"><\/i><\/div><h2 class=\"content-box-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px;line-height:29px;padding-left:48px;\">Specialized equipments<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"content-container\" style=\"padding-left:48px;color:#000000;\">\n<p>The generosity of the participants in the annual golf tournaments held for the benefit of the Arpac Foundation helps to purchase equipment needed to maintain sick people and people at the end of their lives at home.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, the Foundation has supported a family in the installation of a platform lift to facilitate the movement of a young girl suffering from paralysis. A low-income single-parent family with a child suffering from terminal cancer was provided with a complete set of furnishings for the holiday season. Specialized equipment was donated by the Foundation to allow students with learning difficulties at a school in the Abitibi region to participate in sports activities. A wheelchair was donated to a disabled person, giving him more independence.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-column content-box-column content-box-column content-box-column-4 col-lg-6 col-md-6 col-sm-6 fusion-content-box-hover  content-box-column-last\"><div class=\"col content-box-wrapper content-wrapper-background link-area-link-icon icon-hover-animation-fade\" style=\"background-color:#eeeeee;\" data-animationOffset=\"100%\"><div class=\"heading heading-with-icon icon-left\"><div class=\"icon\"><i style=\"background-color:transparent;border-color:transparent;height:auto;width: 28px;line-height:normal;color:#6eb43f;font-size:28px;\" class=\"fontawesome-icon  fa fa-heart circle-no\"><\/i><\/div><h2 class=\"content-box-heading\" style=\"font-size:24px;line-height:29px;padding-left:48px;\">Heartfelt moments<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><div class=\"content-container\" style=\"padding-left:48px;color:#000000;\">\n<p>The Foundation also provided support to a young disabled person selected to the Canadian Paralympic hockey team for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.<\/p>\n<p>The Foundation also supported a family in the Abitibi region in the construction of an adapted patio.
